Okay. I don't know any kind of computer language except HTML and I want to create an automated set of actions in InDesign. Both Illustrator and Photoshop have "Actions" that you just "record" what you want done and that becomes your script/macro/action. Why doesn't InDesign have that option?!?!?

How do I do it if I don't know those languages that the Script is written in? Man, it's super-frustrating! And ridiculous that they didn't include a simple way to do it in this program!!

Or is there a way to do this that I'm missing?

What are you trying to accomplish? There might already be an existing script.

Also try posting in the adobe InDesign scripting forum.

I didn't see one when I looked before. Plus even if there was anything similar, I wouldn't know how to edit it.

I want to do a series of several step & repeat actions, with different variables, all in one scipt.

Well, the scripts (at least on the Mac version) are all Applescripts of javascripts. So, you'd have to know applescript or javascript to edit or create them.

Same on the Windows version. And that's the problem. I don't.

And why wouldn't InDesign just let you record the steps of a script, like in Illustrator and Photoshop? Why require that you know programming language? Weird.
