I am working in Illustrator. When I look at it on screen in .ai or .pdf format, there is no white border. When I print, there is. I have changed all the settings on my printer, there is a 1/4" bleed and it is driving me crazy.

Can someone please help me?

is your printer capable of printing to the edge of the sheet? I thought that was only possible with photo printers. Most desktop printers are not able to print all the way up to the edge because they need gripper space and whatnot.

What is the size of the document? What type of printer?

It is a Ricoh, not a desktop. We (my company) purchased it specifically so I would not have to ship the projects to a professional printer.
I am printing on 11x17 tabloid

Is your FIT TO PAGE selected int he print dialogue? It shouldn't be.

^Ignore...I am an idiot and read your question too fast. What Mo and grafficks said.

What Morea said. Any digital printer that I have seen will only go so close to the edge. If it is capable, you may have to go to a 12x18 and cut it down.

I've never used an edge to edge printer but we do print with crop marks and bleed and then trim down.

Schules, you know what bleed is right?

I have a 1/4" bleed on the media. I don't normally print edge to edge, but this particular piece requires it.
I've only started using this program, so alot of the information I'm needing, I get out of books.

That's a pretty big bleed, you really only need about half that, .125.
