I like to thank that I am a professional... but now that I have looked around here... I have a lot to learn
This is a logo for a outdoorsey/military start up company. The man has been doing it out of his house and now he wants to open a storefront so he recruited me to reestablish his business.
Here is the logo that I have come up with so far... what do you think?

Bump away.
I rather like it mostly. As an old-school sign guy I kinda don't dig the thin green outline or the way the Self interacts with the mountains but these aren't deal breakers by any means.

the font you use for SELF and RESOURCES is probably not the best choice for this. when you scale it down to use on a business card you are going to lose the stencil look. that font is meant to be used at larger sizes. the mountain and sun illustration is nice but i would change the font.

Yeah, there is something about the font and the color of "Reliance" that doesn't work for me. It's like the green isn't "foresty" enough and the curviness of the font doesn't flow well with the sharpness of the mountains.
I think it's a very good start, though. I do see "outdoorsy" and "military" in the logo. :)

I'm not crazy about the fonts either, mostly because mixing two serif fonts to me looks weird. I agree that the stencil aspect of the one font may be lost at smaller sizes.

Not diggin' the black sun... Unlessou were going for something regarding the rarity of total solar eclipses.
...or if he's a HUGE Soundgarden fan.

That would be cool and deep. :)

yeah im seeing the military look probably because of the stencil font. the green outline is bugging me an awful lot though.
