The background image is just too strong... turn away the attention of the main focus (your content)... maybe just tone down the colour of the bg... other that.. i love the colour scheme... and the layout is ok
I like it a lot. I think the background shifts your eyes to the content. I’m to lazy to make a CSS submission to ZenGarden. Once I get into focus I’ll think about doing one cause I definitely respect anyone that does do it. It shows an excellent understanding of CSS, XHTML and some hacks even.
Great job overall 3howards.

Graphic Design Heroes! Call me Captain Type Caster. I’ve fought off “The Evil Cosmic Sans” for year but it seems “Dr. Extreme Untalent” keeps bringing him back. I must find a way to defeat this evil creature.
Capt. Creative bring me those comps…

I love the idea, but I think the bg does distract too much.

I get some strange 1px lines on the left of the links in FF (Win).
I've seen this a few times before on a couple of sites and I wonder if it is a bug with FF.
Anyway, screenshot attached. If you find out what causes it, let me know.

I don't get those lines, but the little tag in the bottom right of the header covers up 'css file' in both FF and IE Win. And 'css file' gets wrapped in FF.

that's odd, i've tested it in ff and ie on my pc and ff on the mac ... looks fine for me. i've even tried safari on the mac. i think i'll remove the tag ... it was simply a detail element that i don't think really adds to the design.
