Hi There,
I am wondering if anyone would know of some good website questionaires that I can give to my clients to fill out at the start of the project. I have just finished a website and was lucky that it was fairly straight forward, but I can see this lack of upfront information can cause huge problems soon.
Thankyou to any one with any help on this topic
Sharon

I too am working on a website questionnaire. Here is a series of articles relating to website planning at www.yshali.com:
www.yshali.com/zen_webdesign/plann_website.htm (http://www.yshali.com/zen_webdesign/plann_website.htm)
BTW this is a very nice site by a woman designer in India... you might enjoy exploring her site!
I recently began a website design for a small local non-profit, and I made the mistake of not asking to see examples of other materials the organization has that they want me to refer to in terms of the design. After spending many hours on a design, the director of the museum said that he wanted me to make the site look more like their newsletter... and it was back to square one! So be sure to ask about existing logos, brochures, etc. up front -- unless you will be re-branding the whole schmeer.
Also, I don't know if you have a good contract, but if you don't be sure to get one SOON! It's so important to spell out your rights and the client's rights before the project gets started. Check out these two books:
'Business and Legal Forms for Graphic Designers'
by Tad Crawford, Eva Doman Bruck
'Graphic Artists Guild Handbook: Pricing & Ethical Guidelines', 11th ed.
Good luck! /emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
