Hi all,

This is my first post so apologies if this isn't the type of stuff that you guys answer.

I'm designing a website for a client, and he wants my input on color schemes (normally just do what i'm told, less creative input). It is a law firm, and he wants it to be as stately/elegant/professional as possible

Alot of conservative professions use the gold/burgundy, gold/emerald green, gold/navy blue color schemes. For whatever reason, they seem to be standards.

I gather gold/green is more apropriate for "money" professions -banks, etc. Are there any stereotypical notions between gold/red and gold/blue, or are there better colors to use?

Basically, any color scheme guidance you can give would be most appreciated!

Gold/navy blue seems to be used for stately/elegant more than red or green.

Red comes across as angry. Don't want that for a law firm.

Can someone locate Broacher's cartoon link for color meanings? It was a simple explanation of color and the search function on this website hates me.

Where did they graduate from law school? Lawyers are usually pretty attched to their alma maters.
