I am trying to work with a supplied AI file for a catalogue. It is a simple file with a pink box, however there is an embedded bitmap image over top.

The AI showed up blank in InDesign but a resaved eps shows a poor quality preview. If I try to print it from Illy I get "The pages selected to print are all blank."

Copy and paste into PS just comes up with a blank box.

Any ideas?

When viewed in InD, turn on High rez preview??
.eps files ALWAYS look like crap in InD if you don't.

Did you check that all the info is on a printing layer (non-printing layers show as Italics in the Layers palette. Double-click and check print to make it print)

Non-printing layer was the ticket, thanks PD.

Here I thought it was the embedded bitmap image that was causing the problem. I prefer simple solutions but I always look past them.:)

It's always the 'easy' that you tend to miss.
I can't tell you how many times I've stumbled over the inch/cm conversion trap in Photoshop...
