check out the below links, they're some highly recognised student awards here in the UK with industry backing

www.rsa-design.net/directions/2004-05/index.htm (http://www.rsa-design.net/directions/2004-05/index.htm)

www.dandad.org/education/student-awards/call-for-entries.html (http://www.dandad.org/education/student-awards/call-for-entries.html)

www.ycnonline.com/awards_all_briefs.php (http://www.ycnonline.com/awards_all_briefs.php)

even if you're in the states, these will give you a shed load of 'live' professionally written briefs to trigger some ideas

hope this helps

If you need any more briefs, I can send you some of the live projects that I have worked on in the last year, with the files I was handed by the staff I have compelted the work for. Some of them are quite dull, but that's the real world for you!!

Hi Wonder Women

I'm looking to beef my portfolio up after having the same job for the last 3 years, I was wondering if you would be kind enough to send me some of your past briefs?

Thanks

Ritchiec

Actually, despite the necromancing, some of those links look like they could be kind of helpful to me. With the three day weekend and no obligations (that I know of), I can get a ton done. Can't believe I missed them, this thread started only a couple months after I joined. Granted, I defnitely wasn't on the GDF quite as often.

Here are some competition briefs that appear yearly. This years will be posted within the next couple of months.
At my Uni we were encouraged to do one or two of these as minor projects for our final degree year to "get us going" after the break and also because at the start of the accademic year the dissertation is all consuming.

Will you take boxers?
