Hey gang, been a while since I posted, been crazy for me the past couple months. Anyhow I have something I'd like everyone's opinions on...
I have a client, was my first 'real' client actually. She puts on a HUGE horse show every year. I did the website for her and charged her $X00 for it, which was actually $100 less than my normal fee because she already had hosting up (and I had a scare trying to land her as a client so gave her a discount more so to earn her business). This was back in March/April. I am fortunate to have hooked up with her because through her I have landed 2 more clients and gotten work from her, and will probably get more in the future if I can keep her happy (which as an aside I don't think she's unhappy with me at all). Well her next show is coming up, April of 05, so she's ready to update the site with the new info. She emailed me the other day with the changes to the page (which as part of our agreement is included in her hosting fee because they're just minor date changes and stuff) but she mentioned in the email she wants to 'update the look of the website' ... So under normal circumstances, I would charge her a redesign fee. My question is, do I charge her another design fee at the same rate her original design cost? Or do I discount her for being a loyal customer (and how much, etc)? I kind of thought the latter, but asked 2 of my designer friends and both of them had extremely different answers so I thought I'd see what you all thought.
Thanks tons!
