Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : powerclip problems in version 12.....ugh..all this energy for a subject!
Was experiencing apparent freeze trying to exit powerclips , some with next to nothing in them. Discovered it was a workspace problem. Dont really understand workspace except it can really screw up stuff.
Sooooo, found out a way to overcome the problem is to......hold down F8 whilst opening up corel and changing the default back to version 12.
This problem can occur I think.........when you have multiple packages open. Me , acrobat, powerpoint, word excell, and darting in and out of various software, the workspace doesnt seem to like it very much.
Don't have a clue what you are talking about here. /emoticons/biggrin.gif LOL at the subject title though. /emoticons/cool.gif
I love children but I don't think I could eat a whole one.

KKG, you are certifiably a lazy subject.
Okay, workspaces. Workspaces are our friends. Everything that you customize in the UI interface (like that Cloning addition for example), keyboard shortcuts, customized toolbars, tool setting preferences... it all goes into that workspace. Which is why, once I'm comfy with my UI tweaks, I make a backup copy of the Workspace by simply using the 'NEW' button and calling my space something else, based on the current workspace. That way, when things go south, north, or whatever... you've got a rope. I've maybe had to rebuild my WS, oh... maybe 4 times in the last decade. That's four times too many. But it's zero times since it got through my skull that it was much easier to have a backup copy on hand. (Duh)
Just curious, have you downloaded and applied the CD12 service patch yet?
Broacher, you are a veritable treasure trove, thankyou yet again. I now have a far better understanding.......and yes, have CD12 patch, installed it as soon as loading new version. Let's face it, Corel is a great package, but it is pretty much standard practice, they need a patch as soon as they release.

Though at the same time, you have to admit that a service patch within a month or two or release has now also become the Adobe and MM standard.
Man, remember the days when big software got seriously updated once every two or three years?
But one wonders about 'market research' practice. Do web designers hand the site over to the client expecting a flood of 'this isn't working' queries? Or do they schedule into their timeframe a period for serious 'bug catching'?
I believe it may be more the case as you stated before. The designers rely on the more seasoned users to relay bugs/improvements back to them 'after release'. The less serious users probably (and possibly 2 versions behind current) aren't bothered.
I make it standard practicee NEVER to upgrade in my busy times. Nasty little surprises pop up when you really dont have the time to deal with them.
