Those are great petchy! I LOVE the paint/wood relief on the dresser. My Mom used to reupholster furniture and I get the urge to recover a piece now and then when I see a well designed chair in need of saving. I have one that needs some springs retied before I can get busy with it.

I love it!
The fabric is great, and that bureau is very cool :)
I have done a bit of that, my desk chair is a big old wooden swivel desk chair, I recovered it with this brown vinyl w/turquoise flowers fabric.
It's much cooler than it sounds lol

Beautiful furniture. I have done a lot of refinishing in the past, but have laid off in recent years as I don't need any more furniture.:D

Very cool! Diggin the bureau, too!
I used to strip and refinish pianos. It's afforded me the ability to say "I used to be a stripper!"
I wish I could say that! :( I used to practice pole tricks after hours at the club I worked in, but they never let me on the stage when customers were around. T_T

I never got a pole! Just a bad chemical burn when the stripping stuff contacted my skin!

I'd love to recover the lazy boy chair that my Dad gave me when I moved out, (that is like 20 years old, but the awesomest chair ever) I just don't know how to really go about it.
So I'm in awe Petchy!

Nice work!
I don't understand this concept of doing creative stuff outside of working hours. I should look into this.

That bureau is fantastic.
Very nice! Very nice indeed! I have a chair that I should redo. If I had the space, I would have tons of chairs.

Audentia : Try this.

You may need to retie the springs if there's a few broken.
And don't be afraid to use a lot of staples!

Thanks Drazan!
That link is helpful. It never occurred to me to rip the old right off... I figured I had to go overtop with one of those ugly ikea things.
This is a great link! :)

Thanks guys :D I do this because I like to relax with a bit of hands on creative stuff in the evenings since I sit in front of a monitor most of the day at work.
Audentia, I am pretty lazy and often don't take the original cover off if the padding and fabric is in decent condition. I then just place the new fabric right side down onto the chair and mould it to shape, pinning along where there seams are as I go - then sew along the pinned lines, turn right side out and place on the chair before stretching and stapling the heck out of it on the underside, and finishing off with hand sewing where needed.

Hm... that might be easier as a lot of the staples on my chair are rusted out and might be hard to get off.
You've all inspired me to potentially make this my summer project.
Hey, Bladez, wanna recover a chair this summer? :)
