I am trying to use the clone tool to fix up an image in Photopaint11, but its like there is a mask over the whole image because It just wont work.
This is a long standing problem that both my Mother and myself have. I have un-installed and re-installed which fixes the problem temporarily, which means it is obviously a setting I am changing myself in the suite.
'broacher'....this is my daughter. I had this problem eons ago and cant remember how I fixed it. Can you help please?

KKG, I'm a rare user of PPaint (Pshop is so much more solid), but I did some checking on the Newsgroups and apparently, this bug comes up even still, in v12 (even after the patch).
Not everyone gets it though, which really makes it look like the cause may be a hardware compatability issue. Even Rick Altman (a guy who writes books on CDraw) was asking about it as of last month. The F8 rebuild of the workspace is a temporary fix (and easier than a complete re-install), but it looks like this might be a legacy bug. Ugh.
Sorry, but that's the best I could come up with.
thanks for your time Broacher..............love the comb!

Corel Photo-Paint has a nifty Clone feature, something I use regularly. Yesterday it worked and today it doesnt. I tried uninstalling Corel, reinstalling it (its Corel 12 by the way) and still nothing goes. I was sure it was just some overlooked setting, but now i am not so sure. Is there any new info on this phenomenon?

I had this on v12 the other day and the F8 reset seemed to work. :)

I was having this problem today and it was driving me crazy. I tried getting in touch with Corel but they wouldn't answer my question over email, saying it was too complicated and needed interaction ... like hell. I found out how to solve this problem by fiddling around with my computer. I do not know what causes the issue, if it is a bug or if it is something that I did but I did figure out what was going on. In order to use the clone you need to be able to set the brush type to normal. I was unable to change from custom clone. If you are having the same problem, try going to window - dockers - brush settings - click the box/arrow next to stroke style and reset all.
Worked for me and I have to thank this forum b/c I tried all afternoon to find out that I wasn't crazy and this actually was a problem and this was the ONLY reference I found to this issue.
