The crap has hit the fan, Over the progress of the week I have lost two influencial people in my life, one a former bagger at foodmaster, a sweet lady whom I've known for years, also a friend of my mothers. And even hitting closer to home, my best friends dad sucummbed to cancer. . .I dont know what to say, I need to be there for my friend, but I honestly dont know if there is anything I can do to make him feel better.
He left Massachucetts at 1am Sunday night to drive to georgia, MArathon drive 16 hours non stop. . .his dad passed two hours before he arrived. What can I do, but pray for the family and friends. His dad lived a good life, provided for the family, retired from being a custodian at MIT. He at least lived a full life to the age of 76.
I guess this is a small tribute to him. . .
I wont be on much tomorrow, I have 2 wakes tonight and a funeral Tomorrow, The weekend can only get better.

Sorry bout that Drorain...sometimes that's how life deals you the cards. All you can do is lean across the table and slug the dealer.
Know this: Spammers, Flammers and Trolls will be shown no mercy and given no quarter. They will be pursued to the ends of the earth and executed Mod-style.

Sorry to hear that Drorain..I lost my mom 2 years ago this past Monday (29th) to cancer. If its any consolation..I know how hard it was for your friend to make that drive bc I have been there.
Just be there for the people you love, that is all you can do and trust me, it means a GREAT deal more than you think it does.

To make it more difficult This is the first of our parents Generation to pass away. . .None of us have had to deal with a death on this level before, I appreciate the support, Me, my brother, and my other friend are real tight with this other friend. Up here in the northeast its almost normal to have a real tight exclusive set of friends, Just the way it turned out for us I guess. We support each other in everything. I will be there for him, I'd like to make a tribute of his dad for him, paint a portrait or something. I might approach him on that subject in a month or so, now is to soon

So sorry to hear that you've lost people who you were close to, Drorain. It really does make a difference just to be there for your friend, even if there is nothing you can say. Sometimes something as simple as listening is the best help you can give.
(Since you are a religious person, you may take some comfort in psalm 46:1 - God is for us a refuge and strength, a help that is readily to be found during distresses. and psalm 55:22 - Throw your burden upon Jehovah and he himself will sustain you. Never will he allow the righteous one to totter.)
I haven't lost my mind... it's backed up on disk somewhere.

Sorry to hear about your loss Drorain, but you're doing the right thing. Just being there for your friend will help immensely. Your idea is excellent, but you're right about leaving it for a few weeks, but I'm sure your friend and his family will be very touched.
