Just wanted to say hello to everybody. I just joined the forum today. I feel like a dweeb but I've been visiting this site for a few months now and finally joined it. I'm familiar with a lot of the regulars just from reading all the posts. I may be a stranger to you guys but you don't seem like it to me. LOL.

Sorry Longpine I just got back to this. Welcome, even sombody who has relatives here is pretty rare in this forum. I haven't been to the new planatarium yet myself even though I live less than a mile from it LOL I guess that's the way it usually goes though. I've been to Lagoon many times, as a child, as a parent and now as a grandparent. It can't really compete with the mega parks ride wise but it has that old fashioned amusment park feel that is missing from the 6 flags type parks. /emoticons/cool.gif

Hey Kool. Yeah, I love that old wooden roller coaster at Lagoon. I grew up in Layton and went there many times as a kid. Sure miss it out there. I love the light rail system they have now in SLC. So you live near the planetarium, eh? I went to that Brazilian restaurant at that outside mall not too far from the planetarium. Good food! Do you know the restaruant I'm talking about? It is on the second story of the outside mall. I bet I was within shouting distance of where you live. You ever been to the Do Do Bird Cafe?

Nah no UT games...just drove through there lotsa times...sometimes stayed the night there.

Yeah you have been missing out ALL this time ya see! This place is a great resource but also a great place to relax with other who know what you're goin through in your everyday work life. It's great!

Yeah, we get a lot of traffic through Knoxville because I-40 and I-75 both merge here. Lots of 18 wheelers come through here.

Ahh, 'The Giant Racer' great classic coaster. You get the added thrill of wondering if it will finally shake itself apart in the middle of your ride.

Not quite shouting distance but walking distance none the less. The restaurant you are thinking of is called the Samba Grill, mmmmmm 'Brazilian' guys walking around carrying big skewers containing hunks of charred meat, mmmmm. /emoticons/cool.gif

Ah yes... the Giant Racer. In some circles it has been known to work as good as a chiropracter on a bad back or neck. LOL

When I was in Salt Lake last month, the famous Brown Cloud was covering much of downtown. I went out to Antelope Island and looked over at the city, the Brown Cloud was so thick it looked like it was there to stay. But the next day it was all gone and the sky was a beautiful blue. Funny how it does that. I dont' recall it being so bad when I was growing up out there. I guess as the valley population gets bigger and bigger it will have more polution.
