ok havent been on in a while but ive been working on my website some more & ive got some new stuff to show mostly out of bordem. this first one called Fire Tree is for my personal website called design in the sky, it will have a little bit of flash once i learn how to use it. (if anyone knows some good tutorials & a cheap place to buy flash let me know please) anyway, this is the home page then the gallery & an example of one of the pieces once enlarged. the links on the home page with at first be in the middle then when a link is clicked on it will waft to the side of the tree where it will stay. i may have a leaf fall from the top of the tree every once in a while, but im not sure yet.

ok then the second one im really unsure about, i like the idea which comes from the style of Alphonse Mucha in ART NOUVEAU but im not sure if it will work. this one is very rough so bare with me ;)

ok thats all & i would love some crits on this thanks guys! -Crystal

I like #2 the best. I like the colors and the layout and think it's very eye catching.

I haven't lost my mind... it's backed up on disk somewhere.

I like your concpet of the fire tree but maybe you should spread out your 'leave buttons' a little more. Cover more of the white area. I like how you have them in the second shot with the gallary boxes. It is kind of simple but I personally think simple works better for displaying stuff. You don't want to have too many distractions when someone is viewing your work.

Ideas for flash: Not sure if you have thought of any but having the leaves fall into place for the buttons would be cool. Don't just have those leaves fall but have a bunch and have some of them hit the ground and the button kind of stick to there position as the fall. You could also have the tree reach up and out at the start. Just ideas.

Good luck!

boom, and what font is that on you're third piece, the one that says design in the sky? now that i've rethought it, i do like you're third piece pretty well.

i like the first.

the last one on the list seems... lacking. yes, the first also does, but thats easy to fix! try adding a photo from a park / wooded area with the same fall colors in the background blurred heavily, and lightened. keeping the solid colors on the leaves and inside the information boxes will pop it out more.

i would also recomend changing the leaves... they look too much like hearts.

those are my thoughts

Yeah the first Fire Tree design is definately better than the last one. Too light.. But I think the fire tree design would look quite good - I can't really think of anything else I would add to it or take away. Pretty good design.. Maybe what pixelmonkey said would be a good idea, try it then compare the two.. or even bring it back here for us to review! :-P

I like the Fire tree design. This will be a nice Portfolio site when it's finished! ;)
