I'm toying with the notion to have my site re-designed...I'm in no hurry, but perhaps in a few months I can unleash the new version.
I'm looking for something edgy yet romantic too...something functional and easy to read, but also a site that is just plain good to look at, and of course, something that reflects my eccentric personality.
I have not had the best luck in the past with designers. The first guy I went to was in his last year of college and basically took my idea/template and made it live. He added a blog and a contact section but that's pretty much it. Won't say how much I paid for it but it wasn't worth it.
The next designer I went to did a great job initally. She seemed to really get my style but made it all flash based which I guess is difficult for search engines to find me.
My friend though, who is starting out with a web design company, offered insight and suggestion on how I can make it better and of course, it got me thinking about how others "see" it because it's going to make a reflection of my product and company. Of course, I want that opnion to be positive.
She said if I could come up with some links to some sites to give her an idea of what I like and don't, she can work up a quote and help me out.
My question to you is, where can I find samples of interesting and edgy/bold/colourful websites? I just want to see what's out there and grab a few screen shots of areas of the sites that I like...that sort of deal. I don't want it to look flowery or over-female but something that's...me.
