Are you trying to make an image out of a single layer??? Or are you asking about a single slice of your psd??? You'll need to elaborate more on what you need help with. I usually trash any code I get from IR or any other HTML generator. If you can swing it, take the time to learn to code HTML by hand. It'll help you out IMMENSELY in the long run.

Blade, what you are saying makes no sense. A layer is made of HTML and CSS code. 'Adding HTML to a layer' doesn't make sense.
The maximum width for a image shouldn't be bigger than 780 pixels so that people with 800 x 600 resolutions don't get scrollbars. You can turn off the repeating by setting
background: no-repeat;
in the CSS.

Again, please elaborate more... and more clearly as to exactly what you're trying to do. If you're having problems putting it into words, then please supply an example.
ImageReady-generated HTML is the devil. I strongly suggest to code by hand. There is no set 'image size' for a website, since websites should be scalable. You'll want your design to look good, no matter what size screen it's being displayed on or the browser it's being viewed through.
Are you trying to make a website out of a single image??? If so, there are too many reasons to list as to why you should NOT do that.
