Does anybody have experience opening/converting Open Office Impress in Powerpoint?

I am tired of fighting with Powerpoint and want to put our presentations in something more controllable. But sometimes other people want to have access to the presentation files, so it has to be able to convert to Powerpoint.

Purchasing something is out of the question. The office won't spring for a new program when we already have Powerpoint. (They just don't know the torture I go through to get a nice presentation.)

Impress can open and save powerpoint files, so just give them those.

Apple's iWork Keynote rocks, as do the other iWork apps. They export to PDF or Office equivalents. Numbers' charts are totally awesome.

Thanks.

Hewligan, do you know if the conversion to Powerpoint is seamless?
