I'm confused. You don't know what the typeface is, but you want critique on it? Did you make this?
i did it really quick on a logo making software thing just to make a quick mock up of what I want
Hmmm... where could you find the trial version of Adobe Illustrator Hmm...
you can't save files with the trial version can you?

NOT Illustrator, but a free vector program.

xara is also a free vector program

As far as bettering the logo itself, you gotta tell us more. What's the name of the company? What do they sell? Who do they sell it to? What image are you trying to portray for yourself within your industry? What is the company's philosophy/mission/etc.? This logo tells us nothing, so we really can't critique it.
