best free 3D modelling softwares

Hi,
I was just getting started with blender which i think to be the best available free modeling and animation software. But i'd like to knowif there are some more softwares(FREE) that I've missed and should choose over blender because I'm just getting started. THANK YOU!

Blender is about the most powerful 3D app that is free. You may want to check out truespace as well. They just offered their software(full version) for free this year.

There's a literal ton of apps, plugins, models, textures, and resources for 3D. What is your goal, and maybe I can put you in the direction of an easier path.

I would suggest Art of Illusion (http://art-of-illusion.en.softonic.com/), surprisingly full features and a lot more easy to get started with.

You'll probably be through your first render before you can figure out how to begin with the Blender controls.
