Hi Folks

I've always been too scared of posting any of my work in here! :o

My original background is in movable type, through to cut and paste, finally to Quark XPress, Indesign, Illy, Freehand, Photoshop, etc.

I've recently been trying my hand at web design and launched a site this morning for a client. I would really like some feedback from you folks (and yes, I've dug out my thickest jumper and an overcoat!).

Site is here:
http://www.questbulgaria.com (http://www.questbulgaria.com/)

Be gentle please! :D

Looks good! Is it using a custom CMS or an open source CMS?

Thanks Mike. Standard Joomla stuff with a load of Joomla components bolted on. Fair bit of hacking around in the css files to get the desired look but it came together reasonably well in the end (well, that's my opinon, I'm sure there will be more crits in here shortly to correct that!).

Au contraire - I think it looks good! I'm also branching into webdesign and am just taking a look at MODx. Did it take long?

Thanks Kate! It wasn't too bad as the client already had an existing site so the actual content was there. It was a matter of a complete redesign, adding some new stuff (Member Area, Classified Directory, Business Directory, Events Calendar, etc.).

From the initial specification and my mock-up of the front page and section pages in Photoshop I would say it's been around five weeks from starting the redesign, fine tuning to launch this morning.

(having said that my caffeine and nicotine levels have gone up somewhat during that time!)

For a site that size I would think that's good - well done! I'm just negotiating on my first real (paying client) website. . .

You have some extra grey padding in your dropdown navigation in firefox.
