WOW! I really like it! Easy to navigate, clean & modern design. I definatley think less is more when it comes to flash. I like when people use subtle animation the way you did, as opposed to overkilling with too much flash stuff.

Background might look good greyscaled, why dont you center the Flash, using align etc. The Movie takes a while to load, how big is the file? Are you using symbol instances? How many imported bitmaps? You have some Jpeg artifactson those square colors. When I clicked on folio it seemed to click three times. Nice work. 8/10http://graphicdesignforum.com/emoticons/hop.gif

Also, I'd aviod the use of slang i.e. 'thru', instead of 'through', if you're looking for employment.

Sorry I'm coming in late man, I just haven't had the time to go through the new posts.
First impressions, it looks great! Love the grunge thing.
Everything navigates easily and loads pretty quick...after the initial download. Are you loading in external movies or is that whole thing one file? All the samples look good, there isn't anything I'd dump.
The copy sounds a little to unproffesional for a resume/portfolio site. I'd recommend losing the 2s, 4s, thrus & things like that, but that's just my opinion.....laptop running low on juice...I'll post more in the morning.

You could have, for example, your print and web section load in when needed. I usually load external swfs into an empty moviclip.
Create a new movieclip, drag it to your stage and give it an instance name, lets say placeholder_mc. Keep in mind that the x & y positions of placeholder_mc, no matter where it is on your stage, will be 0x,0y for whatever loads into it. It may help to keep things lined up if you put placeholder_mc at 0x,0y on your main stage.
To load in an external swf, put this on a button:
placeholder_mc.loadMovie('nameoffile.swf');
This has proven to be a less bulky way to work because you're only loading what you need.
Your site really looks great bro, besides the copy issues, it's a homerun!

Looks good. I did notice a little typo though on the home page. Should read 'your company' but says 'you company'. I read everything else but that's the only one I noticed.

Ditto. There is some poor grammar in that copy.

maybe constructive critism like where the typos are would help a bit more Madora instead of a 'ditto'
i know there are typos - since my first post said there were typos and to help me out with them...

loadMovieNum is ok, but you're loading your external clips into a level...with no instance name. You have a lot more control over the content your loading if you load external .swfs INTO a placeholder clip.
Say for instance, you wanted to take the entire web section that loaded in and fade it out when a new section is loaded. You can't do it with the loadMovieNum function. But if you were to load the web section into a placeholder clip, we'll call it placeholder_mc, you could do whatever you want to it because it takes on all the properties of any other movieClip. Fade it out(._alpha), move it around(._x or ._y), shrink it(._scale), rotate it(._rotation), preload it(._framesloaded), etc.... you can target the whole web section by using _root.placeholder_mc
It's a very scalable and efficient way to structure you're flash movies

i see
I would like to have a very small dot on one of the corners that blinks once and a while
once clicked
I would like a square to slide into the screen with pictures of my family and a personal about me.....i know how to make the square and pictures and I figured out how to load it
with the
on (release) {
loadMovieNum('aboutme.swf', 50);
}
but when I do the unloadmovienumber is asks for a 1 perameter then I put a 1 and it doesnt work...

dude, seriously, don't use loadMovieNum unless you're absolutly sure what is on the level you're loading/unloading to and from. The number isn't a number representing that movie, it targets LEVEL 50 of your movie.
Try using the loadMovie(), unloadMovie() commands....much easier to handle.

okay look at the site.....to me it loads slower.....
plus now the root. commands are acting up (screen shots of web)
