Is any web designers on this forum talented and knowledgable in MySQL and PHP? Is so, I'd like to ask a question for a process I'm stumped on.

They might have been lost when the forum moved to another server.

bIG pERM, try downloading free scripts and have a look at how they've done it, that is how I learn (that, and some help from a programmer friend that is fluent in databases and the like). You basically need to learn basics of programming (variables, loops, arrays etc) in any programming language. Then, if you decide on PHP/MySQL as I and many other people do, you'll find numerous tutorials that will quickly teach you how to connect to a database such as MySQL, how to then retrieve and sort the data from the database, and then how to format it and display it to the browser.

I wouldn't go for a HOW TO DO EVEYTHING tutorial, as it'd either be too much for a complete newbie, or a annoying and over-commented for those familiar with some or all the programming basics.

There are some great open-source scripts out there. I use two of them coppermine and gallery
coppermine: http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/
gallery: http://gallery.menalto.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=index

Some examples all sites I have done mine
coppermine: http://www.west4me.com/pics/index.php
Gallery 2: http://west4me.com/ipw-web/g2/main.php
Gallery 1.4.5: http://west4me.com/ipw-web/gallery/

Hope this helps. I like Coppermine the most.
