I don't know if anyone will know what I am talking about, but I was wondering if anyone knew a good way to make an old movie look kinda thing in photoshop. Like, you kinda see it in old home movies, where it looks like the film is scratched or something. I don't know what its called, but like black little dots appear real quick or maybe a black line will go down the middle for a second or two. I was just wondering how to make something have that feeling, or look like real old film.
Thanks if you know Im talking about...http://www.graphicdesignforum.com/emoticons/eyecrazy.gif

there are some photoshop tutorials on designertoday www.designertoday.com/tabindex-16/tabid-19/DesktopDefault.aspx (http://www.designertoday.com/tabindex-16/tabid-19/DesktopDefault.aspx) or you could check
www.planetphotoshop.com (http://www.planetphotoshop.com)

I haven't lost my mind... it's backed up on disk somewhere.

I think you could try the line by creating that line as black in a different (new) document as a new layer, drag it over to the current file you are working with, and try adding outer glow w/black to make it fuzzy. The dust particles you could make also in a new file with just an odd squiggle or two with the brush or pen tool. Drag them over, adjust the opacity so it looks like dust, etc.
