I've completely forgotten how to apply the out Illutrator. I don't simply applying a stroke to an objest but the outline effect that has the nice curve/finish and scales perfectly.
Any ideas?

Cheers

do you mean to create outlines from text? Select all, then press 'CTRL+SHIFT+O'...

I hope that helps!

I haven't lost my mind... it's backed up on disk somewhere.

My original message made no sense at all did it? Sorry about that.

There is a technique of giving an object an outline. It's like an expansion of the original that you can change the colour of.

Ok, when you selecta vector object you can apply a stroke to it.
Ooh, this is hard to explain.

Check out this image.

On the left is a white object with NO stroke. On the right is a white object with a black stroke. If you select the object, then click on the "stroke color" you can choose a color from your swatches or color palette. Does that help?

I think you're refering to path offset. It's now a removable, editable 'Effect' that you can include in an object style, or as a oneshot deal with Object /Path/Offset path.

I just meant that since Path Offset under Effects is a non-destructive 'attribute' you can now create Graphic Styles that include offset as the whole, or part of the style.
