Used to, in older versions of Photoshop, I thought when you imported paths from Illustrator, it asked you if you wanted to import as a path or an object.

How do I paste paths from Illy into Photoshop 7?

When I paste they only come in as an object and I need a path.

Anyone know how this is done?

Thanks!!!!

It's all in your AI Clipboard preferences. By default, it's set to PDF only, which gives you just the pixel paste option. Be sure to also turn on AICB to get the option of pasting in as paths or shape layers. There's two options-- for most people, paths is the one that they want (for accuracy). But there's a few situations where the second option (Preserve Appearance and Overprints) will work better. There's details on this (however small) in the AI help file.

I'm no expert in PS, but can you place it instead of pasting it?

I haven't lost my mind... it's backed up on disk somewhere.
