Illustrator Opening Settings

Hi,

When I open illustrator my toolbars (such as character and color)are always covering up the page and I have to waste time moving them to the side of my computer screen. Is there a way that I can make illustrator always open with the toolboxes at the side so I don't have to drag them? This is just annoying. Thanks for your help.

are they snapped to each other/the side of the window?

Yes, they are snapped to each other along the top and bottom, but not to the side of the window.

so everything is locked in somewhere on the screen when you exit illy, and when you reboot, theyre all over the place? i cant find anything about this online. PD or Broacher are usually really good at solving these 'freak' problems
