Hi fellow designers,

I've just done a logo for a client selling watch winders.
Hope to get second opinion on it. Third, fourth, fifth... are also welcome!

Thanks!

I'd have a play with the kerning, as the W's don't look like they're part of the same word. All the letters seem a little too spaced out to me tbh!?! That aside, you've done a great job! ;)

yup, the kerning on the 'i' and 'e' need some help on how far away they are from the W, other then that, amazing logo, very well depicted, i like it alot.

I love the design but I don't like the type. I think it goes beyond kerning - Maybe remove all the tracking or make a font change........can't quite put my finger on it........

I wish I had something clever to put here.......

Looking Nice,

Is your logomark 'blue' the same as your 'windz' blue? or are they two separate colours?
I would scrap the gradient you have got going there... people can disagree here, its just my personal feelings towards gradients.
You actually have a darker tint of grey, where you have made the clock hand overlap the clock face, something you may want to fix before sending to press.

Thanks Guys!

Hard as I tried everytime but there's always something I missed out...
Will deal with the kerning manually. Font wise I don't have much of a choice.
Now it can be better!

Adamosity:
The two blue are suppose to be of the same col.
Wouldn't use a gradient if I had a choice, the gradient disconnect the link between the curve and the word Windz.
But I use gradient because the visual direction of the curve is actually outwards, I tried to reduce the strength by having a gradient coming in. Hope you get what I meant. Don't have much of a choice here, I don't know what better ways to deal with this. Can only advice my client to use the gradient sparingly.

You have sharp eyes! The part covering the curve was another vector piece. I've totally forgotten about it. Thanks for pointing it out.

Ok here's the amended.

Below the orginal is the one without the gradient.

Personally I still prefer the org.

They are a much better, anyone. But I think, what would happen if you eliminate the rings of the pointers?

Thank REG. :)

Ya think the rings are a bit extra? Tried removing them before but I just find it funny, straight ones are really plain.

The logo doesn't have those rings during developement stages. I added them to make the logo more interesting and to bring it closer to look like a watch hands. In case it might be mistaken for something else.

Later the curve fits in accidentally to suggest the 'pushing/winding' motion, so the rings are pretty important.

I think you're doing an excellent job! This is a very memorable logo.

if you do decide to remove the rings in the watch's hands, you might consider changing them to arrows instead of just leaving them straight.

something like this?

www.weberspump.com/acatalog/wa861chwayneclockhands.jpg (http://www.weberspump.com/acatalog/wa861chwayneclockhands.jpg)

just a couple of options. Well done!

Power to the Old Schoolers! and btw, if you can't say something nice, shut the hell up.

Will try the first option. I'll be back.

The second option kinda extreme...

P.S. Everyone: If you take a look at watch photography (catalogs, ads... etc). Almost 99% of the time the watch is set at 10:10. Which forms the 'v' shape similar to what I have in my logo.

Personally I think that the logo with a gradient gives it the nice depth. Just enough for someone who is looking at it to notice.

However I know that can be a pain when it comes to shirt transfer, and embridery. But good work.

I like the last one, without the circle of the center.

After a second look, I quite like that one too.
I believe the sharp tip has made the logo better.

But I think the rings are necessary to suggest the pushing action.

Thus I'll try modifying the orginal one to sharp tips. Hope it'll look well.

Visuals of the website coming up!

thanks everyone for their contribution so far!

I'm not a fan of the font choice, I dont think it fits with the smooth part of the clock design, Have any pencil skethes to look at? Some more ideas?

I think is a very good logo, I like the right second from bottom to top the best but the other choices are good too, it would be a good idea to try another font but overall looks great, I like the gradient

Thanks for the feedback. Font choices I don't have much, I think this (serif) font is suitable cos it has the classy high end look (kinda like mercedes) and it's readable.

I've decided on the original logo. It was a decision between looks and communication. The one with the sharp tip and hollow center looks much better, but people might think it's a company selling watches. The original logo protrays better the product that the company sells.

Below is the web. Only the first page as it's still in construction. Once again comment pls. Thanks!!!
