I have been using Freehand for a few years now, using version 9 currently, though learned on previous versions while in school, but now have Adobe Creative Suite through work and was wondering if there are any big advantages to using the illustrator csinstead of the Freehand to produce my vestor graphics?

Am i right toassume it will integrate with other Adobe software better than Freehand would.

On a side note i am loving the InDesign CS as opposed to my Pagemaker 6.5 i was running previously

IMO, Adobe is better in this sense. Though, I haven't used Freehand for many versions, it still has some advantages. Adobe products seem to be more fit for print, while MacroMedia for screen. I used to use Freehand to export vectors to Flash, the original work was from Illustrator. In the end it seems to be more of a matter of opinion, but it also makes a difference which products you use. Try not to mix or convert files too much, eg. Freehand into InDesign. I purchased the Adobe Suite because I do alot of print and own Flash to use Actionscript. The other programs just stay familiar with just in case work calls for it.

Last resort, use MS Paint... with enhanced support for Photoshop filters.

Thanks for the input

I kinda figured it would be better to stay all one manufaturer if possible. That is part of the reason i had work purchase the CS suite. I figure i will just have to play with Illustrator for a little while before i figure out where everything is located.

I love illustrator, but I never learned freehand, so I can't compare them.

Adobe Creative Suite integrates very well though, I'm taking the time to learn In Design because it is all part of the same package, that way I don't have to purchase Quark too.

Power to the Old Schoolers! and btw, if you can't say something nice, shut the hell up.
