Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : I just discovered a great new band
They're called Polyphonic spree and they have this real trippy website - http://www.thepolyphonicspree.com/main.html
They sound a lot like partridge family takes LSD and discoveries indy rock... /emoticons/hop.gif
Ordinary Life is Pretty Complex Stuff
They are pretty good. They used one of their songs on an ipod (i think) commercial and it really stuck in my head. The singer has kind of a fingernail on a blackboard voice but it grows on you fast. They were on an episode of Vegas (motto - more cleavage per scene than any other show) too. /emoticons/cool.gif
Where am I going and why am I in this handbasket?

Great band. The lead singer was in Tripping Daisy back in the 90's. Remember the song, 'I Got a Girl'? That was him.
The Polyphonic Spree have said in interviews that it's really hard to tour or make money because there's so many of them.
Good stuff.

They played at the MTV Music Awards last year, and though I've heard of them I've never actually heard them. I must say I'm all for different music and anything that isn't played regularly on sh!tty radio stations, but these folks are just a little too "out there" for me. I'm not saying they're bad, it's just that kind of music isn't my cup of tea.

Lol TBdesign!
I've given up on MTV. You can only listen to P. Diddy/Ciara/Chingy about three times before they drive you crazy and that's ALL MTV plays now.
I visted that website last night and totally got the background song stuck in my head...and now it's gone. Guess I get to go visit again! It's not bad :)

The Polyphonic Spree Isn't really new at all. I've been listening to them for about 2 years now.(no, I'm not cooler than anyone else)
While they're never in constant rotation on my mp3 players, they are great when you're in certain moods.
Oh, and I LOATH eMpTyV -They're on my list of the top 10 reasons this country is going to sh!t.
With shows like 'My Super Sweet Sixteen', 'Cribs' and all the other crap that promotes a completely materialistic society, it's no wonder a recent survey of high school kids found that they could care less if our first amendment rights are systematically being dismantled -I'm sure they'd care if they couldn't tard out to trashy episodes of 'The Real World'.
And I remeber when eMpTyV used to play videos.
