Help Please - i'm going crazy! Illustrator CS problem

Really hope you guys can help me on this one...

When you import / place an image into illustrator how do you crop the image? i've searched everywhere and simply cannot find out how it's done.

any help would be much appreciated.

Look up Mask.

draw a box. place it over your image. select box + image. Goto Object>Clipping Mask>Make.
Works with shapes too.

You can't physically crop the image in Illustrator. You gotta go back to Photoshop for that.

ok - that's what i'm doing currently, just thought there might be a better way of doing it.
