Official: Pancake Day

[Ulysses]

Pancake Day, or Shrove Tuesday, is the traditional feast day before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. Lent - the 40 days leading up to Easter - was traditionally a time of fasting and on Shrove Tuesday Christians went to confession and were 'shriven' (absolved from their sins). It was the last opportunity to use eggs and fats before embarking on the Lenten fast and pancakes are the perfect way of using up these ingredients.

PANCAKES ARE nothing without maple syrup (only when you're from canada) but, I DO put butter on them before I put the syrup. mmm can't have just syrup, yuck!

I was joking around with the guys I work with and I told one of my co-workers to go pancake himself.
(totally in jest, as we are very good friends).

Yeah, you can get it from Boots etc. You have to find the manicure section, but there are a few different varieties. Didn't work for me though - I started biting them again after I stopped using it.

First of all, most of you people are over reacting. Cat, you have to back off as well. Just because moe pissed you off in another thread doesn't mean you need to crusade against the guy.

Secondly, I read this thread. At NO POINT did moe call anyone ugly. All he said was that to him, kink was average. That means that he doesn't find her attractive, not that she's ugly. Then some of you LADIES jumped on him for that... and I'm sorry, but it does sound like you're insecure about how you look based on your reactions.

Thirdly, beauty is subjective, and membership to an internet forum, regardless of how well it's looked upon does not automatically qualify you as being 'hot'.

Lastly, the pack mentality on GDF to gangbang people for having opinions is out of control. I will agree 100% that if the person is a complete dickhead, then fine, I'm usually the first person to attack. However, if I'm not mistaken Cat, moe apologized to you for his last crossing of the line, as well, I don't think he has done anything here except state his opinion which shouldn't be taken as law.

Kink is attractive, but shouldn't have to worry about what one person, out of the 6 billion on this planet happens to think about her physically. Neither should you older members either.

Well Magnus, I'm learning more about them from my 15yr old brother, I also love the exhibit of them at the museum of fine arts...Oh I havent mentioned the type of swords...Japanese ones...I like the longer curved katanas. But the wakasis...(I know I spelt that wrong) are great as well...They are like long strait ones. I gotta say The hilts have amazing artwork sometimes. For European swords I think I'd use a rapier, I like deadly speed over brute strength of a bastid sword. also gives you a free arm for balance/shield/dagger use

Drorain...yeah, the katana is my favorite as well. I have been studying/training in a japanese martial art called iaido for about 10 months now. It's called "Iaido", pronounced "ee-eye-doh". It's an art designed to draw the sword and attack in one motion, developed as an official art around the 1600's in japan after the sengoku jidai (civil wars) when dueling became very prominent.

The companion sword, the wakizashi is basically of the same construction. There are a ton of awesome sites out there, both informational and retailers that I LOVE perusing through. Here's a few of my fav's that I guarantee you'll like.

The first one from AOI lists all kinds of registered smith's swords. Some antique, some from teh last 100 years. You'll cry (at least I do) when you see the prices...often for just the blade.
