Geez... If I(or a few other people in here)were to post a list of all the music on our computers, the thread pages would be a mile long.
I have a little under 12,000 mp3s... the list would be astounding

You'll all laugh at this -- but I have been sitting here reading and completely *forgot* to turn on my music at all. Then this music topic appears and suddenly i notice the thunderous silence surrounding me! Go figure.
(*goes to turn on music...sips drink waiting for player to cue up*)
Sounds like tonight is my 'fun girl' mix MP3 CD of Cake, Barenaked Ladies, Ben Folds Five and Moxy Fruvous!
What's everyone else listening too -- on-'Pod or off-'Pod?

you should check out www.audioscrobbler.com (http://www.audioscrobbler.com)
It basically tracks all of the music you listen to, then generates lists of things you might like.
I know that sounds simple, but you should see all the features for yourself.
Here's my audioscrobbler profile if you're interested in seeing what it looks like.

Damn EVO, you got a pretty eclectic variety of music there.
Never have I seen Notorious B. I. G., Skid Row and Jerry Lee Lewis on the same page!
Audioscrobbler is pretty cool though... and screw fixing all of your tags. I tried using MusicBrains to take care of mine, but it was a huge pain in the ass. Most of the time I just fix them by hand when they're in winamp.

Yeah, I love it too. Definitely one of the better things I found on the internet in a long time.
It's great how you can see all of the stuff other people are listening to as well as having a network of people with similar music interests generated for you.
I especially LOVE how in the big mix of modern music you always find that rare easter egg of a band that seems out of place... in your case it's a little Simon and Garfunkle and Frank Sinatra mixed in with 2-Pac and Biggie -I love seeing that for some reason.
It cracks me up every time I look over my list and see The Carpenters mixed in with all the rest of the stuff I listen to.
the only thing that I don't really dig about audioscrobbler is the forum -pretty bland conversations there. Eh, whatever, I'm not there for the conversation anyway.
Maybe if enough GDFers join, we can start a group there -maybe I'm getting ahead of myself?

Akewz, your playlist looks like mine. I haven't checked audioscribbler, but I will.
What I've been listening to:
Aesop Rock
Atmosphere
Beastie Boys (always)
Bettie Serveert (going to see them Monday Hell yea!)
Har Mar Superstar
MF Doom (aka King Geedorah)
Modest Mouse (Ulysses said...
Man ... I haven't listened to modest mouse in years. They still making music? Are you kidding me? Have they ever stopped? I'm going to see them as well at first avenue in minneapolis feb. 27)
Mos Def
Sage Francis
Sole
The Flaming Lips (greatest band to see live--If you haven't seen them you SHOULD!!!)
The Shins (maybe right after the Flaming Lips as far as good bands to see live)
I added everyone too - AudioScrobbler is way too ****in' cool. Gonna spend some time checking the site and your playlists out. Its a tad pokey but considering the amount of data they are constantly uploading I really don't mind.

TB....do you live in the Twin Cities?
I was wondering if someone could help me out. I have been trying to update the songs on my ipod to the site but it is not working. It doesn't post after itunes updates the track info - and I tried disabling itunes on mounting and use the update ipod from the audioscrobbler pull down menu - still nothing
How can I get A.S. to update my ipod track info? Right now It is only uploading the info played from itunes
Am I doing something wrong?
