I am on a Mac powerbook and need to know how to record a voiceover and save it as a .wav file. I do have a microphone internal.

you could use this program, it's a free multitrack recording program, it'll save as wav's (and mp3's if you have the lame encoder).

Also, your Mac came with Sound Studio which will record up to 1 hour segments in digital stereo sound (which is only as good as your mic), and save in several different formats. You can also edit the sound files and apply several filters. You can save as .wav or AIFF or a few other formats which could be imported into itunes to make mp3's.
