Hi

Don't know if this is the right place to ask this question but I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
I want to trace out OEM decals as used on honda motorcycles in order to have reproductions made. I have been working on this on and off for probably a year now and have learnt a lot but still cant seem to get a good result.
I have scanned decals and worked on them in Macromedia Freehand 10, spent hours getting all the colours correct, lines in place and radiuses where they should be. After all that when I print out a sample on my printer the sizes are off, maybe only by 5mm but thats enough, these things have to be spot on.
Is there some other application I could be using to make it easier, maybe even something that will recognise the scanned image and give me a head start on the tracing, I know there is a trace feature with freehand but it never seems to work for me.

Anyway, thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

I would say if you have the flat decals just measure them and use those measurements to make your templates. If they are still on the bike then your going to have a hard time. Scanning will distort the measurements a bit.

Sounds to me like they should be printed out of a sign makers plotter too...what kind of media are you printing on. If you send the vectors off to a sign maker i'm sure they can do up a nice adhesive sticker/tranfer thing for you

What, exactly, are 'reproduction' OEM decals?
Copyright infringements?

How many are you gonna have made?
