Many thankshttp://www.graphicdesignforum.com/emoticons/ibf-iamstupid.gif

Try:
_root.path.animationMC._visible = false;
Obviously path being the path to the animation, and animationMC being the instance name of the animation MovieClip.

OK where do I write this, in Flash or my HTML Page?

That's action script -it goes in the actions panel of Flash... preferably assigned to something like a button. or a movie clip, or as an on event handler... ya know, don't just pop it in anywhere and wonder why it's not working.
Besides using action script, you could also just control it directly on the timeline.
Maybe if you gave some more details in your question you'd get better answers.
