I got all moved in...YAY! Now...we cut (or turned on for the non-Southerners on the board..hehe) the A/C on when we got there Friday to start gettin the house cooled off right? Well...to my suprise - and the sellers too..the sh!t DOES NOT work!!

Me: Christi...man the A/C isn't working at all at the house and we are tryin to get moved in.

Christi: Have you tried this and that and blah blah blah??

Me: *grumbles* Oh yeah...tried everything you can possibly think of and its 91 degrees INSIDE.

Chrisiti: Ok let me call the A/C guy and call you back.
*ring ring* Hey Leanne, it's Christi...the A/C guy will be there sometime tonight or early in the morning to look at the unit. He's on another job and can't get there any sooner...I'm sorry!

Me: (like WTF) Umm..argghh ok.......humm...

So....A/C guy comes at 7:30am the next morning but I didn't get to the house until 8am bc there was NO FKN way I was sleepin there with no A/C right. He can't find anything wrong she says. So she tells me to do this and that and I go do it and it cuts on. It stays on maybe 3 hours...temp in the house drops to 87 but NEVER lower...the fan stops AGAIN on the unit. So I call the seller again...she gets the A/C guy over AGAIN. This time I am there luckily so he talks to me and tells me how to keep it running over the weekend (which doesn't work by the way bc it gets NO cooler than 87 degrees in the hizzous!) AND he tells me Christi called the home warranty people and they are coming out Monday at 1pm and he suggests they should replace the until (great for me bc it doesn't cost me one friggin cent with the warranty!) but ewwee that means I have to sleep in the HOT house for 2 nights atleast.

This morning..I get up..take a COLD shower and leave early just so I can get the FK outta there!! When I left the house at 7am this morning it was 91 degrees inside...at 7am folks! Hotter outside than in..ewweee! Anyways...it should be fixed this afternoon but I was a little annoyed (ok ALOT). I mean at the house imspection the guy told her (the seller) to have the AC checked again, and she did and they said it was fine. Apparently they didn't keep the sh!t running long enough to REALLY see. Ya'll....even my poor cat looks exhausted from the heat :o(

I had NO internet ALL weekend...couldn't go see my boyfriend bc I was moving. He couldn't come here because he promised his lil boy he would take him camping but the good news is..I have a house! Would be small to some but it feels HUGE to me after that little apartment! I love it! Can't wait till the A/C works so I can actually do something in the house (unpacking and stuff). I already hung curtains and stuff..it's purdy...hehe!

Anyways...just wanted to share my no air conditioning story...and vent a little! :o)

I'm so glad for you that the unit was warrantied - my grandmother is going to be paying $3,900 next week for a new heating/ac unit for her little house - I couldn't believe they were so expensive!

Also glad you got moved in - sort of - it won't be long now and you'll be all settled and nice and cool, relaxing and happily sippin' sweet tea in your new house.

If it wasn't for the last minute nothing would ever get done.
(When I grow up I want to be just like Keyare! He does excellent work - even when he's trying to not to.)

D... that happen to us soon after we moved in down here. It was hot out and a month later my parents are down and the A/C goes out. A Gecko (little lizard for your northerners) got fried on the compressor and shorted it out.

Luckly we rent.

I know your pain.

I haven't seen a Gecko since I lived in Hawaii. Freaked me out the first time I saw one crawling up a living room wall. DZ welcome to the world of home ownership. At least as LTG said it's under warranty.

LOL! Hey now you can run around naked and you don't have to worry about anything cause it's your own joint.

But all things aside your (boy) friend didn't help you move in. Hmmmmmm, that doesn't seem like a good sign D. I'm just saying cause I don't know him from a hole in the wall. It's just that that's not a good look for him.

I would have helped if my (girl) friend was moving. But it might not be what it seems like, Right?

Ahh naahh benjo...he had plans to take his son Nathan camping...he doesn't get enough time with him as it is..I wouldn't take away ANY of the time he gets with him. I had 3 men helping me so that was fine...I just wanted to see him is all..he lives 2 hours away in Jacksonville. He is stationed there in the Navy. Trust me..he is great. A few weeks ago..on a Tuesday I had a HORRIBLE day..just aweful...I called him about 2pm and then about 6pm that night he called me. I was like 'what are you doin right now?' and he says 'Driving North to come see you to help make your day better' and he did. So..he took the next day off so he could come to Savannah to cheer me up and stay with me until I left for work in the morning. C'mon now...THAT was sweet!!! Plus..he calls me ALL the time.

They have to replace the cooling unit in the attic PLUS the unit outside...so..that is GREAT bc it will be brand new and I don't have to pay one pancakeing cent...but..they of course have to order the sh!t which pretty much means NO A/C for the rest of the pancakeing week. It was like 75 degrees outside last night...beautiful...but inside my house..it was 93 degrees...it's HOT people! I can't even unpack my sh!t bc its so pancakeing hot and ya know..I am USUALLY pretty good with the heat even tho its aweful but this is...just sh!tty /emoticons/violent.gif /emoticons/violent.gif /emoticons/violent.gif

Anyways...the post above was just frustrations from a multiple of things..no biggie...you know how it is sometimes /emoticons/huh.gif

You know that there is this device called a fan that they used before AC was invented. It works pretty well.

Ryan.....yes yes I DO know about the fan..as a matter of fact I have 5 ceiling fans and 2 floor fans blowing in my house as we speak, plus 11 open windows and the temp inside STILL reads 93 DEGREES. You are in West Virginia and this is SOUTH GEORGIA...LOL!!!! Not sure you REALLY know what HEAT and HUMIDITY is yet..hehe ;o)

Okay try this...

Here in Reno it changes by the location. In a single 10 minute drive I have seen it sunny and warm, raining, snowing, and finally hailing, then back to sunny by the time I got to my house. How weird is that? That was a single day! April 6, 2004....

We got 5 inches of snow three weeks ago...now its 80 outside...

If you don't like the weather here, just wait 10 minutes it will change.

My dad grew up in Minnisota and he said one time it was snowing in the front yard and raining the back yard.

Here in WV at the soccer field I saw it just rain in scattered little spots (few square feet here and there) first and then downpour.

D, them ceiling fans- you got em blowing up or down? Cuz if it's down, well, heat rises and they are blowing it right back at you... What also works is putting one fan in one window blowing out and one fan in the opposite window blowing in.

But doing the unpacking starkers works too!

LOL! Yeah PD the fans are blowin right...got the ones in the windows too. No help. Actually...its wierd bc yesterday the low was 40 all of a sudden (WIERD!) and I even got cold at night...its like 76 degrees in the house now so as long as it stays that way ONE MORE DAY I will be good to go because the new unit is due to be installed Friday morning. I think I can survive....but my poor poor Spanky (my cat) was lookin a lil BLAHH from the heat too. He seems to be ok now tho and it enjoying all the new hiding places at my new home!

The unpacking sounds like FUN :o) ...LOTSA windows too ya'll...LOL!!
