aww. my grandma always sends me email chains that have similar, but non-religious imagery. She's always amazed by the pictures and I don't have the heart to tell her that they aren't real :(
oh well, she's happy so its not a big deal
I’ve got a couple of people that email me crap like that all the time. I don’t have the heart to tell them either. We used to have a resident ‘shopped cop around here but apparently he’s still on hiatus.

Is it really? Ghostbusters II was so awful I stopped there. About halfway through, as a matter of fact.

Qwikster or whatever it is may get them sooner.

idunno. I don't subscribe to netflix...I have cable tv. with more OnDemand than I can watch so no need for netflix or the like. I just read about it last week or so about the new logo/change.
*and I already pay 'too' much for cable/phone/internet anyway*

See, I have Netflix rather than cable because I don't need the sports channels. I've flipped around my parents' TV when I'm at their house, and 90% of it is stuff I've already seen or dreck I don't want to watch. I always wind up stopping on the Food Network. LOL Go figure.

So G, how do you watch the shows you DVR? do you get over the air service? we don't get that here...well actually haven't tried here but did at the apartment and the firewalls were too thick.
We watch Food Network and HGTV a LOT. I miss some of the old Cooking shows, rather than these Challenge type shows. Though I guess that is what the new "Cooking Channel" is supposed to be, just haven't seen the channel yet.
oh and Discovery/Animal Planet/Green and those type of channels.

I didn't buy into the whole netflix thing, (in Canada it wasn't ever the greatest deal) so in order to join in I turned to my one of my favourite net resources, the oatmeal, and what I found about netflix is pretty damn funny (http://theoatmeal.com/comics/netflix)
I could go for a netwich right about now

So G, how do you watch the shows you DVR?
I'm strictly over the air with an Elgato EyeTV digital dongle for my Mac tower. I haven't watched TV in the living room since the digital conversion. The DVR is in teh bedroom and uses DVD-RW discs.
The best antenna I've found is the RCA multi-directional digital flat antenna, ANT1400R.
I get cable shows from a variety of sources, including friends, iTunes and Netflix, and I occasionally buy DVD sets from Amazon. Lately I seem to be running out of things on Netflix, so I'm beginning to think I can do without it.
If I dump Netflix I can pay Earthlink the monthly fee they want for multiple internet connections (the base rate only allows one connection at a time) and then I could use AppleTV to the TV in the bedroom, too.
Is it bad that I want to comment on each of the (now 4) "shares" of this photo on my wall and say HAHAHAHAHAHA ?

Interesting commentary on the Netflix kerfluffle...
Hollywood is a unique place, and understanding “business” in Silicon Valley leaves you ill-prepared to understand what makes Hollywood tick (for more on this see: When It Comes To Television Content, Affiliate Fees Make The World Go ‘Round). Very few people understand the key underpinning of the Netflix “original” business model — a 1908 Supreme Court Ruling known as “first sale doctrine.” From Wikipedia:
“The doctrine allows the purchaser to transfer (i.e., sell, lend or give away) a particular lawfully made copy of the copyrighted work without permission once it has been obtained.”

Meh netflix. If I was gonna give up my digital cable that has all the american timeshift channels (we get detroit fox and cbs and things two hours early it's awesome, they tape during dinner and we watch them after on pvr), I would get Apple TV as in Canada it's the better choice as far as I've seen and heard. (and it's in HD, Netflix is not necessarily so fail in my books).
