Illustrator Help

I have a co-worker who has just started on OSX and Illustrator CS. When he tries to move an object while holding down shift, the object is not constrained in straight lines while he moves it.

I had a similar problem when I started with CS and was able to fix it, but I can't remember for the life of me what I did.

Can anyone help?

Never mind..... It was a conflict with Entourage and required an Office Update.
