Hey i was wondering if any of u guys could help me,
I'm generally looking for an overview of the pre-press make up of magazine? (no more than 400 words)
i.e. The reporter works on story, email story to news editor, copys to central file server, then uploads to net, editor reads it an approves, layout for magazine is chosen in graphic dept, all raw data - text, graphic, and photographs imported in quark, copy editor downloads article, checks spelling and grammar in word, Uploads to server, then it is laid down in Qaurk, colour process, 4 colour , colour separation, new and improved , sent to third parties before being sent of for plate creation and printing itself. Then its PDF'ed and compressed and distrubuted to its market.
Is this correct? anything to add or remove?
really need some guidence , as the above is newspaper setup and have tried to relate it to magazines
can any one give me advice, even web links to visit, book, magazine etc.
please note: im based in the UK, please get back to me asap
Many thanks
Ryan
