Hey every one, my name is Adam and I’m a second year graphic design student. I need some help form a designer in the field; I have a project that requires that I interview a graphic designer. If any one is willing to help me out let me know, the interview will contain 10-15 questions that I can e-mail to you, and once the questions are filled out, you can e-mail me back and if possible a few examples of your work as well.
Thanks in advance.

1. I'd rather remain anonymous
2. design work specifically 3 yrs, and in the printing industry for 6.
3. I started out in prepress basically 'repairing' files that were supplied and typesetting forms and imprints.
4. what 'designer' has influenced me the most... probably Jeff Fisher of Logomotives. I have always respected his work, but even more than that, his willingness to share his experiences and his knowledge with others. (you can check out his website at www.jfisherlogomotives.com (http://www.jfisherlogomotives.com))
5. medieval heraldry. Practically, I enjoy working on ads and marketing pieces. I end up doing a lot of stationery projects.
6. I like clients who encourage me to be creative... who give me the information and background on their projects and want me to put my own touch on a project.
7. I prefer clients who give me enough time to complete a project thoughtfully rather than handing it to me at the last minute and saying 'I need this by 2pm'.
8. I expect enough information to to go on when I am asked to do a project. Good, timely communication during the course of a project, and payment upon completion of my work.
9. Don't stop learning. Try new things. Be honest. Accept constructive criticism. Don't be afraid. Always do your best. Give people more than they expect. And above all, have a sense of humor.
10. I suppose that since I went to college for something other than graphic design and had to learn everything by working in the industry I take a different approach to a lot of things than those with formal training. This can be both a blessing and a curse.
11. Seeing something I designed in print. It is a great feeling!
12. Not sure. Probably some sort of administrative work, or even editing. I have good organization skills, am attentive to detail, and can proofread like nobody's business. :D
13. Cat rescues, photography, music, sketching, gardening, camping, hiking
14. Working for myself full time.

2: Six years going on seven.
3: I've always enjoyed commercial art and my work just translated to the computer.
4: More recently, my influences have been Von Glitschka and the GDF member Jeff Fisher for their insights and work ethic.
5: Lately, I prefer working on web design. Next to that, logo or corporate identity pieces. I've been working on so many brochures that they just burned me out.
6: My main issue with clients is their inability to express their needs. We learn in school how to describe what we are feeling and conveying through a piece. It amazes me how people can't do this.
7: As I stated before, well, the complete opposite, a client that knows what he wants. Also, creative freedom is nice and have had that option more as my clientele grows. And, don't forget, every designer loves a client that pays on time.
8: That they let me work and pay me when I'm done.
9: You gotta start at the bottom and work yourself up. Only a select few get the dream jobs at agencies or can successfully work as freelancers. Many lack the real-world experience you need to serve clients well.
10: I'm not sure exactly because, even after six years, I don't have a style. I'm still working at it.
11: Getting to translate a sketch into digital format. Computers have their limitations, so I learn constantly to work within those.
12: Hah, I would be a potter. That was my secondary emphasis in college.
13: I spend time with my husband and daughter. I also try to stay active by playing competitive sports.
14: I expect to have my own ceramics studio so I can spend more productive time with my kids. Maybe, I'll be working in graphics too, and maybe not.
