Saving PS CS file to an older version of Photoshop?

I'm using Photoshop CS and the oher person receiving the file is on PS 6.0

Is there a way to save the file for PS 6.0 or is it even necessary?

I've been able to export AI CS files as AI 10. But am not sure about PS.

You either need to know what version you're aiming for, and ensure that your document doesn't rely on any special CS features (if it does, you will still be able to open the document ... but any special filters etc will rasterized, as text is for example). Not sure if there is another way ... apart from merging all effects down to layers, so it is basically a standard multi-layer document ... but I only ever do this for clients that need a backup document to send to printers etc.
