Hi all,
I found this site by pure chance as i'm looking for some work to be done on my hosting site, yet to be lauched. And sore a contest that was running on here, and also on another forum so stumbled on here.
Some of the work i've seen i'm very impressed so hoping i'm in the right place..
Ok basically what i was origonally after was a header to be created for my site, and after seening some of the work in a logo contest i think that might be on the cards to.
Would it be best to offer this work out in the form of a contest, as this does appeal to me more as we all have different tastes and sytles so think i would find one more suitable to me this way.
Also i would be looking for some flash work poss!! to complement the work and a navagation bar to be included. is this kind of work also carried out by many on here?
Thanks in advance for any feedback

I would suggest that you post it in the job section. Psychologically the thought of entering a contest with the “you might or might not get paid” conscience isn’t the best way to look for professional work.
If you just out right say that you would want to hire someone you will get the more serious and professional artist contacting you. Just for the simple fact that confident artist will approach you and you’ll easily be able to screen till you find someone with the style your looking for.
For the most part make shore that they have an online portfolio. I’m one of the mods here and I can also do the work for you since I run my own freelance company. But all in all look for a direct person as a contest will be swamped with samples and I for one do not take them seriously cause as a professional I feel either you hire me or you don’t.
Good luck and we have both a job and contest section to fit your needs.
Oh and the main reason is consistence. Branding a company has to be done with consistence if you enter all this work into a contest you might get some nice work but will it work when you put it all together?

Hi thanks for your replys....
Well the reason i was looking at contest is for a few reasons really,
When i possed on another forum i got some good responses, and even though they gave me links to there work etc, and some of which i thought personal was very good, i found it hard knowing which to pick as who would create what i would like in the end, if you get my meaning.
After picking someone and agreeing to them carrying the work out, i have just heard nothing from them, what so ever, hence readvertising.
The last was, i dont consider my self as tight, LOL... but i do have a budget, and i dont want to offend people by turning them down with only what i have in mind. As i'm sure it would and i know what you do takes a lot of time etc.
So i thought the plus sides of a contest is i could give my details and what i have to offer and thoughs who wish to follow it up can. I'm not after a master peice, but something that will look nice. As i'm only starting out and its a new venture i dont want to spend to much on it in a hole and then become a flop. But if it does ok for its self then i would invest back into it and more.
I hope i'm not our of order in what i put or rude at all..
Zenaps no your not out of order. I also speak for the professional Graphic Artist when I say you dealt with an unprofessional designer so please don’t let that tarnish the image of our industry.
Also as a starting point I guess it’s fine if you choose to go with a contest. Just keep in mind that you want everything in EPS format as a vector file. Unfortunately I can’t participate in contest for personal reasons. But our forum has lots of members that would submit work if the prize is favorable.
Also consider that in the future it would be difficult to do all your print collateral by means of contest. It would be to your benefit and I say this with 100% sincerity to deal with one designer.
We have plenty of professionals here and we also have new graduates that have the skills needed to finish your work.
Good luck and to start your contest post it in the contest section of the forum.
