Hi Everyone!

I managed to score a freelance job w/a small company that imports jewelry. I'm going to be color correcting the photos of the jewelry & making a "digital library" of their products. The owner wants the file saved on a disk, that can be used on Mac & PC's (a universal disk, I guess it's called). What kind of file should I save it under?

I've started panicking b/c I realized I have no idea how to make diamonds look sparklier, and make the silver shinier (will be using Photoshop 7.0). Plus the owner is going to be sitting over my shoulder telling me what to do. I am so nervous!

Ouch...over the shoulder sucks my friend, to bad there is no photoshop Jewelry Rinse filter.

In any case I would save as jpeg, thats a universal format that works well, saved to CD-Rom.
Also when you are doing color correction, You'll want to use the levels section and maybe brightness/contrast

Use the dodge tool and burn tool. Generally use it to highlight whiter areas to make them 'glare' more giving a shiny look. You could also do this... select colour range - choose white as your colour and select a tolerance that selects all Bright areas - then make a new layer and fill the selected area with white - then blur the white and screen it back over the original. Adjust the layer opacity as needed. I might attach an example...

good luck
