Export to pdf probs in Quark 4.1...

Hi all,

Just a bit frustrated at the mo.

As when I output a postcript file to distill using export to pdf in the utilities menu of Quark 4.1, the bitmapped images appear to be low res, but when I create a pdf through file > save as eps and distill this it is fine?

Has anyone come across this problem before as it is annoying me at the mo...




p.s. Yes I do work in Quark 6 on OSX but some external jobs are in Quark 4, and therefore have no option but to use OS9 and Quark 4...

I generally use print and choose adobe pdf from the list of printers instead of export to pdf. this has never caused me any trouble

This is how I do it. Never a problem.

Under Utilities menu --> export as PDF -->Preferences -->Output -->Use OPI-include images

Save as a .ps file and distill.

Hi Ollie, yeah I can output like this, but really want to output from the utilities menu > export as pdf for various reasons.

Hi Vikia, this is exactly what I have been doing for ages with no hassles, but it doesn't seem to want to play ball now???

Still not sure what has changed as I used to be able to output high res pdf's in this way no troubles...

It was an extra PPD file installed by OSX.
