Hey

First of all, I'd like to ask what's going on with the attachments thing? Only 1 per post? Is there something wrong with the bandwidth space or something? Cutting down on it?

The question: I got another year left at design school and then I got to decide whether I'll go to Uni (College in the States I think) or not. I don't know whether I should go on to degree level or get straight into work, starting of with little freelance work if I have to. What would be the wiser option? I know many of you have been through this, and I just want to know how you went about it. I'm doing a National Diploma in graphic design with a short national photography certificate as an extra on the side and the NDis said to be one of the most reconized qualifications at 16-19 education. Apparently it's worth3-4 A/AS Levels which most 16-19 year olds do, giving me a better chance of landing that job. I don't know. Just thinking.

And finally, just like to say thanks to the forum, few names but everyone in general. When I first registered, gee ... in a sense I was asking you people to do my work for me. http://www.graphicdesignforum.com/DesktopModules/dotNetBB/emoticons/biggrin.gif Now, it looks like I can think on my own and develop my own work further to a stage where it reaches that "yes, this is it!". Thanks to all the reading and looking at other peoples work, it's all inspired me! I've still gota long way to go, but i'll get there! Thank youeveryone! http://www.graphicdesignforum.com/DesktopModules/dotNetBB/emoticons/cheers.gif

Yes, we are trying to cut down on bandwidth. You can use a free service to upload your images such as http://www.imageshack.usand then post the image that way if you need to post more than one at a time :o)

As far as schools go, as its been discussed here many times - my feeling is that it really depends on the person as to whether or not you need the education and discipline. I went to an art & design college and I loved it and I feel I NEEDED the discipline to guide me. Not everyone does tho.

You can always freelance at anypoint as long as you are ready :)

Thanks for the "thanks" ;o) and good luck!

Here's the link to the article about some of the changes to the forum. We Need Your Help (http://www.graphicdesignforum.com/desktopdefault.aspx?f=35&m=114887&tabid=137)

I personally use imageshack, the free hosting service that DZine posted above. If you have a few photos you want to post you can always slap them into one file in photoshop and upload them that way, too.

As for schools, D-Zine is right on top of things there, too! (Go figure! /DesktopModules/dotNetBB/emoticons/lol.gif) There is some excellent advice about the necessity of schooling here: www.graphicdesignforum.com/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabindex=4&tabid=139&itemid=31 (http://www.graphicdesignforum.com/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabindex=4&tabid=139&itemid=31)

I have seen your work make a lot of progress in the brief amount of time you have been posting here... mine did too! That's one of the reasons this place is so great. Glad we can be of some help! /DesktopModules/dotNetBB/emoticons/cheers.gif
