Hey, I'm looking to create a smoke effect where smoke/steam blasts from the bottom of the screen and then starts to curl and form letter forms, later to be replaced with some glowing text. Most likely I'll be taking the animation and editing it in After Effects so I'm already thinking of having the animation split into layers (one blasting up, another forming curls, and then the glowing logotype).
Any tips or ideas on where to look for information on achieving this?. It seems like any tutorial I find doesn't cover what I need to know, like the smoke curling to form a specific shape, or the tutorial is under Alias' B.S. silver/gold key thing system (It's a $7k program and I have to pay more to access tutorials? Give me a break).
Thanks,
John
