Welcome to this new weekly thread!!

Just as the title reads, I will be writing reviews on anything and everything. My plan is to start with a weekly thread but if I find I am ambitious I will try to do more than one a week. I hope this weekly thread will help spark some fun conversations on the forum. If you have any suggestions feel free to let me know on this thread or through PM. If you wish to submit a review for the weekly thread, please PM me or email me to let me know. I would love to have others help me out with this.

So here we go with the first installment...

Anything and Everything Review #1

Scrabble: Travel Edition

Have you ever been in the middle of a scrabble game and had someone bump the board? Tragic isn't it? Well this new travel version has solved that problem.

Of course you still have to make sure you don't lose the tiles, but the new board is designed to keep them in place. The board's raised grid allows you to snap the letter tiles into place making it virtually impossible to disrupt the game by bumping the board. The board even snaps flat to keep it from folding up during use. It is small enough to pass back and forth between players, but still big enough to allow for easy reading.

The game comes with a great little velvet bag to keep the tiles in when they are not in play. When they are in use, the tiles are kept in special personal trays that even has a privacy flap to prevent them from falling out or allowing your opponents to see your letters. The maximum number of tiles (seven) fit perfectly into these nifty little trays.

Now for the best part... you can stop playing the travel version in the middle of a game and put it away just as it is! The board holds the tiles in place even when it is folded shut. The tile trays snap closed with your letters inside and snap securely to the underside of the board. The board is labeled Player One through Player Four so you can keep the hands straight and start back up where you left off. The unused tiles in the velvet back fit under the other side of the board. Everything fits securely inside a soft but strong plastic zip-up case for easy carrying and storage.

This is a great way to take Scrabble where ever you go or to simply play at home. It is great if you only have short periods of time to play or if you travel a lot. It is also a smart investment if you have a lot of cats that like to play with things like the tiles!! This is definitely a smart buy for any Scrabble nut in your life!

Nice idea Neuro. Look forward to your review on travel Connect 4, I used to love playing that (though technically, it is only fun so long as you're not travelling alone, unless you offer to play the game with strangers on public transport - now that is what I'd call a civil gesture).

Anyways ... how do the pieces hold in place extactly? magnets? rigid pins?

Excellent review. I already look forward to the next one.

Will there be a rating system?

I didn't really know if I should do a rating system or not.

Ulysses - the tiles actually snap into the spaces. The back of the letters are shaped with a lip on the edge to snap them in snug. Was actually kind of difficult to get them back out, once they are in. Ha! I guess that's the point though.

Thanks for reading guys! Now off to work. I'll check back tonight.

This is really a handy version of Scrabble. We tested it out the other night for neuro's review, and despite several cats trying to run interference, they could not successfully interfere with the game!

I like this idea too... anybody have any ideas as to how we could make it a little more interactive?

sort of like: 'for next week, everybody write a brief review of a <whatever>' and then post them on Wednesdays review thread?

yeah, but have it on the same thing like 'different ways to stick things to your wall' (i've just been pulling 2 months worth down and i've ruined them) and people have specific tests to carry out, like lastability, damage limitation etc etc

like a book club - tell people what you will be reviewing and they can come in and participate with their thoughts if they've got/used whatever the 'reviewed' item is.

nice review bro..i'm sure Scrabble fans will find this helpful. I like the fact that you can stop in the middle of the game and continue later.
