I am having the strangest thing happen on one of our computers at work. Here's my specs.

Mac OS 10.3.7
Classic Environment 9.2.2
Quark 4.1 (classic)

When the computer is turned on the classic environment starts up and what happens is the Print Monitor icon appears in the dock. I cannot open the Print Monitor or open Quark or other classic applications. I have to force quit Print Monitor 2 or 3 times and then it finally quits but also shuts down the classic environment. I then have to restart classic, cross my fingers, and hope the print monitor doesn't show up. What the H E DOUBLE L is going on. Thanks. /DesktopModules/dotNetBB/emoticons/eyecrazy.gif

What are you using for font management? If you are going to use Quark 4 in Classic, try turniing autoactivation OFF in OSX.

PD is a grande format digital print dude. His advice/opinions may not apply to the 4color/offset/web world of printing

I'm using FontAgent Pro. This has just started happening the last week or two, but I've been using FontAgent Pro since December and haven't had this problem until now????

If I remember right, I used to have that happen sometimes and it was because a 'corrupt' job was trying to be processed by the print monitor (it stays in there until it ceither prints or gets deleted, even after countless restarts.) From what I vaguely remember (this was a few years ago) you had to either get into the print monitor the minute classic launched and delete the file or you may be able to get in there and trash the corrupt file by starting up classic with your extensions off (which you can do in your classic preference pane) then just restart classic as normal.

Once again this is all based on my shoddy memory. Good luck.

Craig B,

Thank you. I had 8 Print Monitor Spool Files ranging from 3kb to 2.6mb in the print monitor documents folder.
