Help! I've worked with PCs all my life at work and at home and I've just got a job however I will have to use a MAC. I've only briefly used a MAC at college but this was a long time ago http://www.graphicdesignforum.com/DesktopModules/dotNetBB/emoticons/icon_redface.gif I know all you other designers out there will be cursing at me!http://www.graphicdesignforum.com/DesktopModules/dotNetBB/emoticons/nono.gif
Firstly, is there a two click mouse with scroll function available now for a mac (the one click mouse is going to drive me round the bend...) Or at least is there a two click mouse available?!!!!
Secondly, apart from the differences of turning on/off the computer and the file menu system - is there anything else I should know about?????
Thirdly, Has anyone seen the new iMini available and know whether this is powerful enough to do graphics/multimedia work on?
Thanks!

Many designers use strictly pc's. This is just like the 'which is better, coke or pepsi?' argument. Everyone has their preference, and they just have small differences in flavor.
From our forum FAQ's:
Question: Which is better, mac or pc?
Answer: Both have their uses in graphic design. While Macs have traditionally been considered 'THE' tool for graphic design, either system is acceptable in the industry these days. It’s not which system you use, so much as how you use it. The quality of our work is NOT defined by our hardware.
Sorry I can't help you out with the rest. I'm a pc girl.

There ARE mouse out there that are two buttons for the Mac. I don't know any specific examples but I know they are out there. The biggest thing I can tell you is to remember that most stuff you used control for will now use the 'apple' key. It doesn't always work that way but a lot of times it does. You'll be just fine. There are difference but you'll get the hang of it.
This is a good thread to look at for information on the how good a mini is for design. It has to do with it versus the G5 but it will give you an idea of the general opinion.

Kensington makes a couple of programmable track balls. I like the one called Turbo Pro. It has a scroll wheel and many programmable buttons.

Many designers don't like the track ball design for lack of fine control. I'll admit, I do production and it suits me just fine. Tablets are better for finer work in Photoshop etc.

a good thing for ya, almost any PC USB mouse will work with a mac. and yes, the right button works much like the pc version in the different adobe programs and in the OS itself. i've always used both pc's and macs and inbetween and if you have any more questions you can either email me or pm and i'll be glad to help you.

Today I begin to understand what love must be, if it exists.... When we are parted, we each feel the lack of the other half of ourselves. We are incomplete like a book in two volumes of which the first has been lost. That is what I imagine love to be: incompleteness in absence.

Some of the rumor sites have been reporting that Apple may release a two button mouse in response to the enthusiasm over the Mac Mini, but since it's a rumor site, take it for what it's worth.

any two button mouse will work on a mac
If you just have the mac mouse Option click is for the second button, Option click on just about anything that the second mouse button wouyld do. The little buttons on the side are to keep your position if you run out of dragging room hold that in and then reposition your mouse.
